CATEGORY «D» VISA

GENERAL INFORMATION

Сategory D visa or long-term visa is issued to persons who plan to stay in the territory of a particular Schengen country for more than 90 days in a half-year.
Category D visa entitles you to stay:
— in the territory of the country that issued the visa during the validity period of the visa;
— on the territory of other member states of the Schengen Agreement no more than 90 days during each 180-day period.
A visa can be issued for one, two or multiple entries.
A national long-term visa category D to Latvia can be issued to persons who plan to stay in the territory of the Republic of Latvia for the purpose of work, study or obtaining a residence permit.

CATEGORY D VISA FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING A RESIDENCE PERMIT IN LATVIA

Can be requested after receiving a positive response on obtaining a residence permit from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia.
You can apply for a single entry visa for up to 30 days.

List of required documents:

1. Passport;
2. Two photos 3.5×4.5 cm (colored on a white or light gray background);
3. Insurance policy, issued for a period of 30 days (insurance coverage 42 600 euros, the territorial validity of the policy — the member states of the Schengen Agreement);
4. Visa application form;
5. For minor children — birth certificate;
6. A copy of the Decision of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.

Visa fee for consideration of the application — 60 euros (payment in Belarusian rubles at the exchange rate of the NBRB on the date of submission).

CATEGORY D VISA FOR WORK IN LATVIA

Can be issued for up to one year.

List of required documents:

1. Passport;
2. Two photos 3.5×4.5 cm (colored on a white or light gray background);
3. Insurance policy for the entire period of stay (insurance coverage 42,600 euros, the territorial validity of the policy — member states of the Schengen Agreement);
4. Visa application form;
5. Labor contract;
6. An invitation from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.

Visa fee for consideration of the application — 60 euros (payment in Belarusian rubles at the exchange rate of the NBRB on the date of submission).

CATEGORY D VISA FOR STUDY IN LATVIA

Can be issued for up to one year.

List of required documents:

1. Passport;
2. Two photos 3.5×4.5 cm (colored on a white or light gray background);
3. Insurance policy for the entire period of stay (insurance coverage 42,600 euros, the territorial validity of the policy — member states of the Schengen Agreement);
4. Visa application form;
5. An invitation from educational institution or from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.

Visa fee for consideration of the application — 0 euros.
